There are libraries on all the five campuses. The libraries catering for the College of Humanities are:
- Howard College: EG Malherbe Library
- Pietermaritzburg: Cecil Renaud Library
- Edgewood: Edminson Education Library
Please visit the library website at https://library.ukzn.ac.za/library-hours/ for operating hours in each Campus. Your student card is also your library card. You will need your card to enter the library as well as to borrow and renew library books. The library provides access to a wide range of books and journals in print and electronic format plus other resources. There is study space and computers in all libraries. Prescribed books for lectures are kept at the Academic Reserves at the Circulation Desk and cannot be removed from the library.

During the first term, the library offers training sessions in how to use the catalogue and online resources. You are strongly encouraged to attend a session.
Visit the library and identify a training session that you would be able to attend. Write down this time and remember to put your name on the library list. Ask your mentor to help you if you are not sure.
