UKZN Alumnus and former Miss SA finalist Ms Xia Narain features on the brochure cover for one of the world’s leading luxury department stores. Narain was chosen to showcase the latest trends and designer brand fashion for the UK’S Harrods by modelling brands such as Chanel, Cartier, Prada and even Rolex as part of their editorial feature. She appears on the cover and inside of the brochure.
Since her move to London, Narain has become the face of high-end makeup brand Bobbi Brown UK and is working with Burberry, Ted Baker, River Island, NEXT and other big brands.
Narain said she had been overwhelmed by the support from home. ‘It makes me so proud to be a South African and to have contributed something positive towards representation in the industry,’ she said.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in General and Industrial Psychology from the College of Humanities. ‘I will eventually get back in to complete my qualification at UKZN until I get my doctorate and then hopefully get to open my own practice,’ she said.
