About the School
The School has 6811 students and boasts state of the art facilities that are named after renowned struggle icons and educators. They are the Ellen Kuzwayo Building, Phyllis Naidoo Lecture Theatre and a reconfigured conference centre named after Dulcie September. The Ellen Kuzwayo building has three lecture theatres, staff offices and a commercial space.
The School offers a wide range of undergraduate degrees and diplomas as well as postgraduate certificates, Honours, Masters and Doctoral studies programmes. The high-quality qualifications contribute to life-long learning and inform the professional development of educators and leaders in the field of education.
It has a strong national reputation for teacher education programmes, adult education, workplace learning and higher education.
The School of Education is located on two sites namely, Edgewood (Pinetown) and Pietermaritzburg.
