Prospective students attend UKZN’s Open Day

Prospective students from Durban and Pietermaritzburg attended the 2019 Information Open Day to learn more about degrees and programmes on offer at UKZN. Some of the learners attended with their parents and teachers, eager to make an informed decision about future academic career choices.

Discussed at the Open Day were application and selection criteria for admission into any of the programmes on offer at the University. Housing and financial aid issues were also discussed.

Our Lady of the Rosary Secondary School learner Ms Nelisiwe Maphumulo said, ‘Being here and getting to know about all the degrees and admission requirements made me realise that I want to study here to become a teacher.’ Maphumulo says she plans to study hard during her matric year to get the sort of results that will ensure entry to the University.

Matric learner from Zakariyya Muslim School in KwaDukuza Ms Husna Tayob added, ‘I want to study for a degree in Psychology and I think UKZN is the best place to help me become a psychologist. Attending Open Day has been very informative and now I know more about my career options and the entry requirements.’
