Male Circumcision
CCMS’s high output of excellent graduate students producing quality student research, has led to our students being approached for ideas and input regarding the development of national communication campaigns. Last year, CCMS was approached by Richard Delate, Country Director of JHHESA, to get CCMS students involved in developing a national communication campaign for male circumcision, a campaign supported by the government. The open discussion with Delate and his colleagues was attended by 28 CCMS students who offered their unique perspectives on how to communicate the facts of male circumcision. Student feedback has been incorporated into the development of posters, flyers and the national media campaign advocating for male circumcision. This means that students through public forums and discussion on key policy issues are contributing to educating communities at grassroot levels.
